Review:

The marketing compares this to Evelyn Hugo and I was definitely skeptical going in, but you know what? I can see that comparison for sure! There’s definitely a similar vibe but this one was very unique and original on its own. At first glance this seems like it may be a bit ambitious as far as structure and plot goes but the author delivered everything in a seamless manner and with a deft hand and I was never confused for a second. There are several points of view, some you only hear from briefly but everyone that does contribute does so for a reason, it’s very thoughtful and purposeful. There’s also a book within a book with I love so much and you also get a queer love story, some mystery, and deeply developed characters and strong writing. I absolutely loved this unique story and highly recommend it when you’re in the mood for a book that is consuming, thought provoking and smart.

Review:

I am obsessed with this book! From the very first page I was absolutely enthralled and totally caught up in Zoe’s life. Her voice was so strong, even if she was a little bit frustrating at times and I could feel her emotions throughout the book. The premise was fantastic as well, Zoe wrote a thriller about a stalker and suddenly scenes from the book are happening to her in real life. So creepy and unique. This was unhinged and twisty and very addictive, I did not want to put it down and found myself rushing to get back to it anytime I had a chance. The ending was totally unexpected for me, I never saw it coming and that’s always a great thing when I’m reading a thriller. If you like books about obsession, Hollywood fame, and stalkers this was excellent and I’ll be seeking out the authors previous books asap.

Review:

I just adore the authors books and up until now my favorite seasonal read from her was The Christmas Sisters but this may take the top spot for me now. It was SO good, it has a mix of romance, family drama, holiday festivities and second chances and I adored every single page. Parts were emotional and somewhat heavy but it was balanced by holiday activities and Christmas charm. It didn’t hurt that there were cute kids and animals too, definitely some levity for some of the heavier issues. There are bits set in London but the majority takes place in a quaint and charming village, a perfect wintery setting. I’ve been reading a ton of seasonal romances and this was one of the best I’ve read this year!

Review:

This is the type of book with a pretty outrageous premise and you’ll have to be able to suspense your disbelief to enjoy it, but I liked the premise and I mostly enjoyed it! Peyton is a frustrating character, he makes terrible decisions and I was pretty annoyed by him for most of the book. Many people are describing this one as fast paced but I found it be on the slower side, yes the chapters are short and there are pacey moments but there are also plenty of slower sections making this one more steadily paced for me. Parts seemed almost repetitive and it definitely could’ve been a little shorter for me. Do I recommend this? Sure, to the right reader. You’ll like this if you don’t need a likable or reliable MC and if you like stories that go a little out there.

Review:

This one was wild! It’s gaslighting galore and as the reader you have no idea who to believe or what to think and I always enjoy that feeling when I’m reading a psychological thriller. The pacing was pretty fast and I read it in just a couple of sittings because I really wanted to know what would happen next. It’s definitely a huge guessing game with twists and turns, sometimes verging on outlandish but I had a lot of fun with it and some of the twists were really great. Julie is a bit of a frustrating character and hard to sympathize with at times but overall this was engaging and entertaining.

This was such a cute holiday collection, it’s three novellas from three different authors and I enjoyed all of them. This would be perfect during the busy holiday season and you could jump in and out, maybe read one story even if that’s all you had time for. If you’re in the mood for some festive, hallmark style reads try this collection!

Review:

This is such a guilty pleasure series for me, the true definition of popcorn thrillers and it was so much fun to be back in the world the author created again! This series is best read in order, you should at least read the previous book as that’s when we are first introduced to the main character here, Cecelia. Things pick up awhile after the last book ends and Cecelia hires a new nanny, Lizzie to help with her baby daughter. As always this was filled with unlikable characters, (the kind you love to hate) lots of twisty surprises, and juicy secrets and betrayals. It’s over the top and you may need to suspend some disbelief but it was a blast and a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Review:

This one was tense, set against the backdrop of a raging wildfire a community battles just to stay alive but while that may be the largest obstacle they face it’s not the only one. This is told via the perspectives of Sam, True and Mel who are a close knit unit made up of everyday people who are just trying to do their best. All three were easy to relate to, normal people trying to do right by their family and I was very sympathetic to their issues. Sam and Mel’s youngest daughter has a life threatening heart condition and her story truly scared me as a parent and then add in a fire literally in their backyard and the tension was SO high. If you live in an area where wildfires are an occurrence you know how scary it can be and the author did a great job of capturing that fear and anxiety. If you like character driven suspense with likable characters try this!

This was one of those effortless type of reads for me, I was truly sucked into the story for the majority and found it to be very engaging. Katherine was a likable character for me and I was desperate to know why someone was following her and what they wanted from her. It lost me as the story progressed because many of the happenings seemed a bit too coincidental and not at all plausible. I wasn’t altogether pleased with the answers either, but I did like most of this. Overall a quick and fast paced domestic suspense I mostly enjoyed.

Review:

I’ve never read a book by the author I haven’t enjoyed so I knew I was in for a treat when I started this one. I loved the premise here, it was unique and there were so many questions raised right from the start and I was desperate to hear the answers to them. It starts off on the slower side, the groundwork is being laid for what’s coming up but by about a quarter of the way in things start to get faster and by the end things were even faster and my head was spinning at times. There are several points of view here and I was hooked by each one, many chapters ended on a mini cliffhanger which is a great tactic to keep me furiously turning the pages. Twisty doesn’t even begin to cover the turns this took, and they were smart twists too, definitely not the kind I could predict. Another super solid read from a trusted author, if you like well developed domestic suspense this was really good.
