Synopsis:
This year, nothing about Christmas is going to plan in bestselling author Sarah Morgan’s irresistibly feel-good novel full of friendship, love and festive chaos!
As the snowstorm of the century bears down on New England, reclusive author Mabel Miller is preparing to spend yet another Christmas alone with her cats. While everyone else is making merry, she’ll be avoiding the whole painful holiday. No decorations. No tree. No traces of Christmas. That is, until the weather intervenes and sends not one but two cars spinning into the stone wall surrounding her isolated cottage. Now she has a house full of strangers when the last thing she wanted was company for Christmas.
Yet Mabel’s unexpected guests—a family with two young children expecting Santa to drop gifts down the chimney, and two work colleagues who clearly have a history—are determined to make the best of the situation. As her attempts to protect her privacy are thwarted by the two little ones who are charmingly oblivious to her boundaries, soon Mabel is making cocoa and cookies for the first time in years, and allowing them into her library, a place that contains so many of her secrets.
Mabel has her reasons for keeping her truths so deeply hidden. But this Christmas, if Mabel is brave enough to share, she might finally be able to rewrite the past and find a festive happy-ever-after – for her new friends, but also herself.

Review:
Strangers stranded together during a massive snowstorm? Sounds like the beginning of a thriller, right? 😂 Thankfully, this is Sarah Morgan we’re talking about, so instead of murder and mayhem, we get heartwarming friendships, unexpected connections, and all sorts of festive delights!
The Best Christmas Ever was such a sweet, cozy read! It’s part romance, part family drama, part friendship story, and ALL parts festive fun. I absolutely loved the setup of a group of strangers unexpectedly spending Christmas together after a snowstorm derails everyone’s plans. There’s something so charming about people being thrown together under unusual circumstances and discovering that maybe it’s exactly where they’re supposed to be.
One of my favorite things about this book was the multigenerational cast of women. Mabel is older, Brooke is middle aged, and Izzy is younger, and I loved getting to know each of them. They’re all at such different stages of life, dealing with their own challenges, hopes, and complicated emotions. Each woman brought something unique to the story, and I found them all relatable in different ways. The multiple perspectives and various storylines also kept things moving at a lovely pace, and I was completely invested in everyone’s journey.
And can we talk about the audiobook? Dara Rosenberg is always such a delight! I swear I listen to her narrate so many Christmas and Hanukkah books around this time of year, and I’m certainly not complaining. Her performances are consistently warm, engaging, and enjoyable, and she was the perfect match for this story. She captured the cozy atmosphere and emotional moments beautifully, making an already comforting book even more enjoyable.
Sarah Morgan has such a wonderful way of blending heartfelt emotions with lighter, joyful moments, and this book was no exception. Between the friendships, family dynamics, romantic possibilities, and festive atmosphere, there was so much to love.
The Best Christmas Ever is exactly the kind of book I want to curl up with during the holiday season. Sweet, uplifting, and full of heart, it’s a lovely reminder that sometimes the most unexpected Christmas plans turn into the most memorable ones.
