A charming cozy mystery series full of seasonal vibes, baking, and one unforgettable Newfoundland

Looking for a cozy mystery series that feels like a Hallmark movie with a murder mystery thrown in? The Beacon Bakeshop Mysteries by Darci Hannah deliver charming small town vibes, delicious baked goods, seasonal settings, and a lovable cast of characters you’ll want to revisit again and again.
If you love reading with the seasons, this series is especially fun because almost every book revolves around a different holiday or seasonal celebration. I listened to the entire series on audiobook, and Amy Melissa Bentley’s narration made Beacon Harbor feel like somewhere I never wanted to leave.
About the Series
The Beacon Bakeshop Mysteries follow Lindsey Bakewell, a former Wall Street investment banker who leaves New York behind after a devastating breakup. Returning to the Michigan lakeside town where she spent summers as a child, Lindsey renovates an old lighthouse into the Beacon Bakeshop.
Along the way she builds a new life alongside:
- her enormous, lovable Newfoundland, Wellington
- best friend and influencer Kennedy Kapoor
- neighbor and former Navy SEAL Rory Campbell
- and even the friendly resident lighthouse ghost, Captain Willy Rigs
The series perfectly blends cozy mysteries, baking, romance, friendship, small town charm, and just a tiny touch of the paranormal.
🎧 Audiobook Recommendation: I listened to the entire series on audio, narrated by Amy Melissa Bentley, and highly recommend it. Her warm narration perfectly matches the cozy atmosphere of Beacon Harbor and it felt like listening to a friend tell me a story. Absolutely delightful.
Beacon Bakeshop Mystery Books in Order

1. Murder at the Beacon Bakeshop ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The perfect introduction to Beacon Harbor. I immediately loved Lindsey, the lighthouse setting, and of course Wellington. The bakery, the recipes, the small town atmosphere, and just enough haunted lighthouse vibes made this such a fun series starter.

2. Murder at the Christmas Cookie Bake Off ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Peak Christmas cozy. I mostly remember how festive this one felt, making it a perfect December read.

3. Murder at the Blueberry Festival ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
A fun summer installment filled with silly pranks, festival chaos, and one of the lighter mysteries in the series.

4. Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
One of my favorite seasonal entries. The Halloween atmosphere, ghost hunters, and haunted lighthouse made this an especially fun fall read.

5. Murder at the Blarney Bash ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Probably the goofiest book of the series thanks to all the leprechaun shenanigans, but still charming and entertaining.

6. Murder at the Lemonberry Tea ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Perfect summer reading with British baking, afternoon tea, and another entertaining mystery in Beacon Harbor.

7. Murder at the Campfire Cookout ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A fantastic finale. I normally don’t love when cozy mystery series leave their familiar setting, but this one really worked. The isolated campground, no cell service, locked room feel, and slightly darker tone kept me completely hooked while still feeling true to the series.
