Fall is officially my favorite time of year to build a TBR, and this year I’ve gone a little overboard. 🍂📚 I’ve rounded up a whole season’s worth of reading across three of my favorite genres—romance, cozy mysteries, and thrillers—with a mix of books I’ve personally read and recommend and plenty of new to me titles I’m hoping to get to.

Whether your perfect fall reading mood is a cozy small town, a swoony romance, a murder mystery with a pumpkin spice latte nearby, or a thriller that makes you question every noise in the house, there’s something here for you.

Romance Recs

These are the fall romances I’ve actually read and can personally vouch for. Expect plenty of autumn atmosphere, small town charm, swoony love stories, and feel good romance perfect for settling in with a blanket and a book.

Cozy Mystery Recs

Fall and cozy mysteries were basically made for each other. These are the cozy mysteries I’ve read and recommend, featuring plenty of autumn settings, charming communities, food, seasonal fun, and, of course, a murder or two.

Thriller Recs

If your ideal fall reading involves a little more suspense and a lot more creeping dread, start here. These are the thrillers I’ve read and recommend for readers who like their autumn reading dark, atmospheric, twisty, and impossible to put down.

Now we’re getting into the books I haven’t read yet—but absolutely intend to. 😂 These are the fall romances currently sitting on my TBR and calling my name, from cozy seasonal love stories to new releases I’m especially excited about.

And finally, the thrillers waiting patiently on my TBR. Well… relatively patiently. 😂 These are the books I’m hoping to pick up when I’m in the mood for something darker, twistier, and a little more unsettling this fall.
