Review:

Mac Meyers Needs Me was such a fun surprise for me! After not totally clicking with the first Tilton University book, I enjoyed this second installment so much more. This was cute, funny, sweet, flirty, and exactly the kind of easy college romance I wanted. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and I loved the setup here—Ophelia impulsively claiming that Mac is her boyfriend and Mac immediately deciding they should actually run with it. Obviously, pretending to date your secret crush is an absolutely foolproof plan. 😂

Mac and Ophelia had such a fun dynamic together, and their existing friendship made the progression into something more feel natural. There’s plenty of chemistry and steam, but I also liked the sweeter side of their relationship. Mac may be the ridiculously popular guy everyone on campus wants, but I loved seeing the way he focused on Ophelia once their fake relationship began blurring into something very real. The college setting and friend group added to the light, playful feeling and made this such an easy romance to settle into.

I listened to the audiobook narrated in duet by Kat Auden and Alex Kydd, who are both newer narrators for me, and I thought they were fantastic. Duet narration was such a good fit for a fun, flirty story like this because their performances made the banter and chemistry between Mac and Ophelia feel even more lively. They played off each other beautifully and brought plenty of personality to both characters. I would happily listen to either of them again.

Overall, this was a significant step up for me from the first book and such an enjoyable college romance. If you want something light, steamy, funny, and sweet with fake dating at the center, Mac Meyers Needs Me absolutely delivers.
