Genre: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

Prepare to fall in love amongst the wildflowers this spring. . .

From the romance superstar author of The Boston Bolts hockey series comes a rivals-to-lovers, grumpy-sunshine romance about a young woman returning to her family’s daffodil farm only to find someone unexpected running her daddy’s business.

They say you can never tame a wildflower…

When aspiring pastry chef, Tally Darling, returns home to her family’s daffodil farm, the last thing she expects to find is a hot—half-naked—farmhand living in her childhood bedroom and running her late daddy’s business.

Jesse Walker might be gorgeous but he’s also infuriatingly grumpy. Walker has no time for Tally and the feeling is mutual.

That is, until Tally hears him moan over one of her signature salted honey cupcakes. And then discovers how good it tastes when they kiss.

As dewy April days turn into warm May evenings, Walker and Tally soon realize that there is a thin line between love and hate. But will their budding connection grow into something that lasts beyond one season?

Review:

Darling Daffodils Farm is basically my romance love language: give me a swoony small town romance, a quirky cast of meddling residents, a baker heroine, a cowboy hero, some serious banter and tension, and I am in.

Tally Darling returns home to her family’s daffodil farm and finds Jesse Walker—hot, grumpy, and apparently very comfortable taking over her late father’s business—living in her childhood bedroom. Naturally, these two get off to a slightly rocky start, but the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore. Their banter, tension, and rivals to lovers dynamic made this such a fun couple to follow, and I loved watching that friction turn into something much swoonier.

But honestly, the town may have stolen the show. The meddling residents were an absolute riot, and their town wide group chat was completely unhinged in the best possible way. I love a small town romance where the supporting cast actually feels like part of the story rather than background noise, and these people brought so much personality and humor to every page. I was fully entertained by their collective inability to mind their own business.

And can we talk about the setting? A daffodil farm?! Is there anything cuter? Add in Tally’s baking and Walker being a cowboy and it genuinely feels like Brittanee Nicole went down a checklist of things I love in a romance and said, “Yep, let’s put all of that in one book.” There’s plenty of sweetness, but the romance also brings the heat, with great chemistry and enough spice to keep things very interesting.

Darling Daffodils Farm is the first book in the Hope Harbor series, and I am immediately starting book two, which probably tells you everything you need to know. This was just such a fun, charming, sexy small town romance with a cast of characters I already want more of.
