Review:
What happens when the people responsible for delivering justice have secrets of their own? That’s the deliciously intriguing premise behind This Jury Is Guilty, and I had such a great time with this one!
At the center of the story is a high profile Hollywood trial involving a famous actor accused of attempting to murder his wife. With the entire world watching, the pressure on the jury is enormous. But as we quickly discover, these jurors are bringing a whole lot more into that courtroom than their opinions about the evidence.
One of my favorite aspects of this book was the way the story unfolded through multiple perspectives. We hear from several members of the jury, and almost everyone seems to have a hidden agenda, a secret, or a reason to manipulate the outcome. I loved trying to figure out who was telling the truth, who was lying, and what everyone was really after. There were so many moving pieces, and that made the mystery especially entertaining.
The inclusion of witness testimony and courtroom transcripts was another fantastic touch! Those details made the trial feel immersive and added an extra layer of intrigue as I tried to piece together what actually happened. I always appreciate a legal thriller that really leans into the courtroom experience, and this one absolutely delivered on that front.
The pacing did slow down a little for me in the middle, but thankfully it picked back up, and the ending was strong. I appreciated how everything came together and how the various storylines were wrapped up. There were plenty of twists and surprises along the way, and I was satisfied with how it all played out. Overall, This Jury Is Guilty was a really entertaining legal thriller with an irresistible premise, plenty of secrets, and a cast of characters you can’t quite trust. If you love courtroom drama with a healthy dose of psychological suspense, this one is definitely worth adding to your TBR!
