June Wrap Up

How is it July already you guys?! Insanity! June was a much better reading month for me than May so I’m happy with my number of 26 books read. I even snuck in a couple extras but my reviews will be up soon. I’ll be vacationing for a good portion of this month and while I’ll have a couple of posts scheduled things may be quiet for a few weeks, so heads up.

How was your month? Any must read recommendations? I read SO many amazing books this month that I can’t even begin to pick my faves.

The Thinnest Air was a fun read but I had some minor issues.

Campaign Widows: Juicy, Light and Breezy.

Providence: Unique, Complex and Captivating.

Three Days Missing: Exhilarating, Pacey and Twisty.

The Cottages on Silver Beach: Sweet, Comforting and Warm.

Girls Night Out: Dramatic, Entertaining and Addictive.

The Completionist was a book that left me feeling super conflicted.

All We Ever Wanted: Relevant, Thoughtful and Absorbing.

Before and Again: Evocative, Deep and Moving.

Find You In the Dark: Subtle, Original and Fluid.

Somebody’s Daughter: Shocking, Compulsive and Quick.

The Last Time I Lied: Eerie, Intricate and Deceptive.

I honestly can’t even believe another month has passed you guys! Sometimes it feels like life is just one big blur, a frenzy of shuttling kids around town, trying to spend quality time with my husband and then squeezing in some much needed reading time. Phew, I’m tired! Anyway, April was great for me, I read 29 books and overall I loved most of them. My quick thoughts on each book are below as well as links to my full review if you’re interested. And I would love to know how your month was as well!

The Elizas: I had some issues with this one unfortunately.

Bachelor Nation was a fun read for fans of the show.

The Perfect Mother: Devious, Misleading and Clever.

We’ll Always Have Christmas was the ideal holiday read.


If There’s No Tomorrow was a powerful read.


The Deep Dark Descending was a fantastic atmospheric mystery.


I love Slater and The Mistake was a great psychological thriller.


My first TBT pick of the month was Until You’re Mine. I really liked this one!


Fifty Years of Fear is a highly unique read.


The Welcome Home Diner was women’s fiction with depth, it tackled several current issues.


Annie’s Christmas by the Sea was a really lovely and fun read.


Delaney is a great start to a new series, I really love Mullen’s style.


The Blackbird Season was a slow burning eerie read.


Snare was a highly original and tense read.


Snowflakes, Iced Cakes and Second Chances was a gorgeous and hilarious read.


Christmas at Butterfly Cove is the third and final book in an adorable series.


Her Last Secret was a character driven psychological thriller.


Seven Days of Us was a mixed bag for me.


If You Knew My Sister was a psychological thriller that was heavy on the psych aspect and low on thrills.


Under the Knife was an intense medical thriller.


The Little Village Christmas was a lovely read.


The Truth About Thea was a memorable psychological thriller.


Her Last Day was an exciting and fast paced thriller.


Silent Lies was a twisty thriller I loved it!

No-One Ever Has Sex on Christmas Day was a hilarious read.


The Memory Watcher was an addictive, entertaining psychological thriller.


The Lost Child was another fabulous read in a great series.


The Bitches of Suburbia was a sardonic read, like a cozy mystery with bite.


I adored Hilderbrand and Winter Solstice was the perfect ending to a wonderful series.


Murder Game was the conclusion to a fantastic series.
27 books total for October, not my best month but I’ll take it! Life is insanely busy and just keeps getter busier so we’ll see how it goes from here on out…

My favorite read this month was actually a TBT pick, The Memory Watcher but I also loved The Truth About Thea.

February Wrap Up

In the Shadow of Lakecrest  was a gothic historical fiction that I enjoyed.

Pretty Little World was a really fascinating read about a communal family. 

No Safe Home was a solid crime read.

Cross the Line was another great addition to this series.

Distress Signals was a fantastic psychological thriller.

The Lost Woman was a really interesting and intelligent thriller.

Don’t Look Behind You was the second book in a great series!

The Boy Inside was a sad look at a young mans journey in and out of prison.

Forever is the Worst Long Time was a very emotional and touching read. 

Friend Zone was a cute NA romance.

Lucidity was a unique thriller.

Revenge was a high brow, smut filled, deliciously fun book! 

The Devil Crept In was a terrifying and awesome read.

My Not So Perfect Life was an easy and light read.

Sealskin was a gorgeous story, a must read. 

Robbing the Dead was a great start to a new crime series. 

Blink was a fantastic psychological thriller. 

Parker was a sexy and fun read. 


I See You was an excellent psychological thriller. 

The Abattoir of Dreams blew me away, loved it! 

On Second Thought was a really fantastic story about two sisters.

The Promise was an electrifying thriller.

Winterscroft was a creepy supernatural thriller. 

Cursed was a really good Nordic Noir novel. 

Secrets We Keep was a gorgeous story about family secrets. 

Old Friends and New Enemies was the second book in a series I really like. 


Bad Little Girl was a really good psychological thriller.

I had another fantastic reading month, a book a day, can’t complain about that! I decided to start picking one standout book each month in the hopes that when I have to pick my top reads for the year it’ll be easier. It was tough to choose just one, I read some really awesome books this month, I know I had several five star picks! But the book that has stayed with me the most is….

The Abattoir of Dreams by Mark Tilbury! It was such a genre bending and emotional read, I just loved it. My review is linked above if you missed it.

January Wrap Up

I started out a new month and a new year with a great read about the power of family secrets. 

This really didn’t work for me.

I LOVED this one, such an exciting read.

I really liked this police procedural/thriller.

I was on the blog tour for this one and liked the domestic suspense.


This was an outstanding debut.

This was a hilariously fun read.

I loved this debut, highly recommended. 

This was a dark YA novel and I really liked it.

I loved Jill’s debut novel! 

This was a dark and twisty one that I liked. 

This was a high octane thriller with a fantastic protagonist. 

This was an interesting take on a crime novel with a CSI as the protagonist. 


This was a really good historical fiction/mystery.

This was a simply stunning read.

This one was a fantastic start to a new series. 

This was a chilling, atmospheric read.

I loved this one. 

Another one from Jonasson that was fabulous.

I liked this one, it was unique and engaging. 

I loved this one. 

This one was just alright for me, I was left wanting more. 

This one was ok for me, not my favorite from this series. 

This one was awesome with an amazing twist! 

I loved this one.


This was a different type of read with uncomfortable subject matter. 

This was another stunner by Gardner.

Kind of a disappointing end to the month with this one. 

Overall 28 books, I actually listened to two more just haven’t reviewed them yet so I won’t count them, and read one more but it’ll be my first review for February. 
Great start to the new year, definitely read some really great books and my favorite was Sirens. 

Still doing good with my reading goals, here’s some highlights.
